Feel Good Postpartum

With each package my aim is to guide each individual family, so they feel supported, confident, and cared for.

In the current climate I have created an online option.  Even in these challenging times, you can still enjoy a positive and peaceful postpartum.

We plan so much for the massive event of the birth of our babies, but what then?  What’s the plan for when your little one arrives?  Who is going to be your village and support you whilst you focus on the full-time job of feeding and falling in love with your baby?

“When a baby is born, so is a mother, and the birth of a mother can be more intense than childbirth .”  Julia Jones

With their hearts wide open mothers are ‘new-born’ just like their babies.  They need to be nurtured and nourished just like their babies. It is important that we learn more about what happens in this incredible transitional stage.

  • What is ‘baby brain’?
  • How can we understand it better and use it in a more positive way?
  • How can we address the high levels of postnatal depression that mothers, as well as fathers, are experiencing now?
  • How can we best work as a team and avoid couple conflict?

Having learnt with Julia Jones in her recognised Newborn Mothers Collective course, I am a certified Postpartum Doula.  I look to support you during your first 42 days in any way that specifically works for you and your family.  Helping you emotionally and practically as well as facilitating and creating space for you to confidently find your own path to becoming a Mother.

“After birth, there is a Sacred Window of time; a time for complete rejuvenation of a woman’s physical, mental and spiritual health. A time for deep, extended bonding with her newborn. The first 42 days after birth set the stage for her next 42 years .”  Ysha Oakes

1 in 10 women AND men will suffer from postnatal depression or anxiety in the first year after the birth of their baby, and if one partner is experiencing PND it is 24%-50% likely the other will too.  I believe the lack of support and resources in the early weeks is a big factor effecting these statistics.

The belief that we should be ‘fine’ and being up and about soon after the arrival of our babies to show the rest of the world we are ‘fine’ also plays a big role in our health and wellbeing as parents. The importance of rest is paramount. If this vital window of bonding and healing is missed, it can have long lasting physical and mental health effects on the mother.

For new parents with their first babies, as well as those who are expecting the next addition to their family, we can create a postpartum journey that avoids fear, overwhelm and exhaustion but instead creates confidence, peace, and joy.

I will help you to recognise your own unique family vision, identify your fears and dreams along with any obstacles and challenges that may get in the way.  We will establish a postpartum plan to ensure that you are nurtured, nourished, rested, and healed.

Should you choose to breastfeed, your chances of breastfeeding successfully will be much higher because your levels of oxytocin will be regularly boosted.  You will be able to give yourself time.  You will be able to focus completely on you and your baby.

Amongst the bombardment of books, diagrams and advice from the ‘experts’ I will guide you to make your own choices that work for you and your family.

With my 1:1 care, a library of resources that I have gathered, a team of specialised practitioners behind you and access to the private ‘Feel Good Postpartum’ Facebook group, you will have an amazing network of support.

You will certainly not be alone.

For too many women motherhood can feel lonely, exhausting and confusing, but it doesn’t have to be that way!

“During our sessions postpartum, Sarah has given me the chance to relax, discuss becoming a mother and offered some wonderful guidance. The reflexology treatments have helped soothe the aches and pains that come with being a new mum. She has even brought me tasty treats and allowed me a little bit of time to myself whilst she has watched my baby- very much needed at times! I can’t recommend Sarah highly enough.”
